What this is
Maybe you want more music, more poetry, better household habits, or richer conversations in your home. The Kid Gazette turns those intentions into a small physical ritual your child can meet each day.
You provide the judgment and knowledge of your child. AI handles the repetitive work of generating, rotating, laying out, and delivering it.
You choose the source shelf
My Gazette draws from sources I deliberately chose: Jewish texts, classical Greece and Rome, Renaissance thinkers and writers, American founding-era sources, and classical composers. Yours can draw from the traditions, books, thinkers, music, poetry, and historical periods you want present in your home.
Start with names or broad categories. You can add specific texts and source files later.
Start rough
Five useful answers are enough for version one: their age, a few current interests, sources you value, skills to practise, and the tone that fits them.
Record a messy voice note—or answer the questions in AI voice mode—and ask the assistant to fill in the worksheet for you. Unknown answers can stay blank.
One-time setup
You do not need GitHub, a terminal, or any coding knowledge. The starter kit includes the files and instructions the AI assistant needs.

Use Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app or Claude Code. Say:Set up the Gazette for my child using MY_CHILD.md.
Review the first issue, ask for any changes, then let the assistant connect your printer and choose a daily time.
It is just a plain-text document with simple headings—not code. Open MY_CHILD.md with TextEdit on a Mac or Notepad on Windows, type beneath the questions, and save it with the same name. You do not need a coding program.
